Callout

Invite others to join your adventure…

When sending a message to the Wanderung mailing list, always cut and paste the following ‘Callout’ template into your email.

Please ensure ALL necessary details have been included. Then please proofread it one more time before sending (don’t forget to pick the correct day/date, meeting spot, and sign-up deadline.) Do not include any graphics, images, or icons in your message.

For more details about Organizing a Callout, please review our Organizer’s Guide.

Trip Planning Template

More ambitious adventures may require a planning meeting to sort out complex logistical issues, or user competencies. Trips exceeding 2 days in duration would fit into this category, as would adventures requiring special gear or skill sets. In these cases, use the following PLANNING Callout template to invite members to your meeting.

Subject: PLANNING for West Coast Trail trip
Destination: the famous West Coast Trail
Date & duration: aiming for Aug or Sept (range of dates is acceptable)
Group size: up to 6
Required experience: training will be discussed
First meeting: Feb 29, 7pm “The Grind” on Main St.
Description: – (Optional but encouraged.) For example:. “I’ve always wanted to do this but am seeking some adventure partners. I want to assemble a group and choose a date and then discuss some test hikes for the group to assess compatibility of this magnitude. Gear, food, etc will be discussed in follow-up meetings and e-mail. Meet me at the Grind if this trip interests you too.”

Please note: Other than a “callout” message, the only other types of messages that subscribers may send to the list are as follows:

“Hike Full”
“Hike canceled”
“Driver Needed”

Please note that “Almost Full” or “I need more people” type messages are not OK. If you don’t have enough people for your trip, sending your callout to the list again is NOT allowed. The “driver needed” message should be used only as a last-minute measure if your whole trip plan is about to collapse due to lack of drivers.
